I've spoken to a few of you, but I guess I ought to do this formally.
My name is Fox Mulder, and I'd like to apply to join the police force. I graduated from Oxford University in 1986, summa cum laude, with a BA in Psychology; after which, i studied at the FBI Academy at Quantico, and graduated with honors. I was assigned to the Violent Crimes Section and then the Behavioral Sciences Unit at the Bureau, where I worked for several years. I'd offer more specific references, but it's not like you can call them up, here.
The majority of my work, however, has been on the so-called 'X-Files'; cases left unsolved, with apparent ties to paranormal phenomena, which had been largely ignored for a number of years until I began to pursue them. As such, I have nearly a decade's worth of experience investigating, well, stuff most people don't believe in.
As far as references go, a number of individuals in the City are aware of my work, although no one from my world appears to be present. I can refer you definitely to Debra Morgan within your own department... And to a few others if needed, pending my affirming that they're willing to recommend me.
I can drop by tomorrow for the actual forms and whatever tests you have to put me through, if that's convenient.

Very stylish, that weather. More horror-flick than gothic novel, maybe, but stylish nonetheless. I didn't see anything in particular-- not clearly, anyway-- but I think I'm getting the gist of this curse stuff. So, fun like that happens on a regular basis, huh?

You guys can consider this a public service announcement: I am not, nor have I ever been, David Duchovney. While I appreciate the enthusiastic reactions mentioning this handsome man elicits, I'm not him, I've never heard of him and I don't really want to hear about him. Not even the stuff involving Tea Leoni. Reality is more subjective than usual around here.

Rumors of my being Fox Mulder are, however, completely accurate.

Just a head's up: if the tabloids come a-calling with their 'TV STAR GONE INSANE!' headlines, don't say you weren't warned. They can be ruthless with people's "quirks".

Am I the only one that's noticed we're stuck in an alternate dimension where unknown entities afflict us with curses for their own mysterious reasons? Tabloids are the least of my amusements concerns, here.

Well, I had time to process it, I guess? I still don't believe that guy that said he was Obi-Wan Kenonbi was anything but a cosplayer and he was here longer than you have been. Donna only told me that you showed up denying that you were David last night. Can I get a week at least?

I can't think of anything. I mean, it's not like there are any records here you can check me against. And I don't know how I would differ from the guy you think I am, so that doesn't work. Got any ideas?

I'm not really into soaps, and the others aren't ringing any bells. Though theoretically, they don't necessarily exist in my world, I guess.

I'm all out myself. But... can I tell you that I really liked your show? You know, what you did with Scully and stuff. I own all the DVDs.

I guess there's no Alec Baldwin or Kim Basinger in your world either.

They're there... I think there's a significant overlap between worlds, at least in some cases? I suspect the multiverse probably isn't creative to come up with an infinite number of completely discrete universes.

I didn't understand a word you just wrote, but can I safely assume you've heard of Angelina Jolie? Frank Dean? Michael Jackson? Leslie Dean?

Are there really worlds without Michael Jackson? I'm not sure whether I should be jealous or sorry for them.

That's pretty impressive; I'd guess it's a good bet that he doesn't exist anywhere in her world. Kind of a shame, I think Thriller makes the world a better place. Then again the Moonwalk and his personal life arguably undercut the benefits.
