Well, as verifiable proof that no matter what dimension you're in, Mondays inherently suck... There's been an explosion in Building Five. A lot of property damage, but the fire looks to be under control, and most of the injuries seem minor. As far as I can tell there haven't been any deaths.
I've brought in a suspect for questioning, who was at the scene and covered in blood. As to what actually happened, I have no idea.
[ooc: aaand here's Mulder, helping out with plotty stuff, hope this works for ya? :D]

Well, I'd suspect those are pretty few. Probably still in denial over what's happened, or something. A friend of mine had a pretty interesting theory, about how things that are real in one dimension can become fiction in another. It may be rubbish, but it works for me. I think we need to find ways to make sense of things here, even if our ways don't mesh with each other, if we're going to manage living here without going mad.

Well, I'm sort of into physics and time theory and things like that, so I find it pretty interesting. I really do need to get back to work on a project I started a while ago, for a device that at least can predict openings in the dimensional fabric, and maybe even can create them. It'd be pretty handy.

If nothing else you could probably make some money selling trips home, if it worked.
no subject
I've other ways of making money! I want it so it can be used to send people home who want to go, or maybe even fetch people here from other places. I've no doubt the deities will have something to say about it, but that doesn't mean it's not worth trying.

To be honest? I'm kinda having a good time here, for the most part.
no subject
I love it here! I've my own business, all sorts of friends, the opportunity to learn the most amazing things -- I got to ride on a broomstick, of all things! Plus, seeing as how I'm dead back home, living in the City has some distinct advantages.
no subject
Sorry to hear about that... I guess the City's automatically a better option for a lot of people.
no subject
Thanks, but I'm honestly all right about it. I accomplished what I wanted, what I needed, and...this is pretty good as an afterlife goes.
no subject
Could be a lot worse, yeah.
no subject
Anyway. Right. Being digested, that pretty much beats it all, I think.

Hurt like a bitch, afterward. So. Space whale?
no subject
I can imagine it did! The um, space whale thing was...well there was this outfit who were passing off alien flesh as beef, and we discovered it was actually this enormous whale-like alien who'd got lost and come through the Rift. Poor thing was in so much pain, and it went a bit mad. We had to put it down, or it would have killed the whole team.
no subject
...And here I'd always assumed aliens would taste like chicken.
no subject
Maybe different species taste like different things? This one definitely tasted of hamburger.
no subject
Of course now I can't shake the idea of a McSpaceWhale with cheese.
no subject
You tease, but there's a very good chance I've had that! They were selling to Cardiff's meat suppliers, so there's no knowing where it wound up before we caught it.
no subject
...that's. Wow. And no widespread adverse side effects?
No, scratch that, if it was in fast food who could tell?
no subject
Far as we could tell, no one noticed the difference. Does make you wonder about the state of the meat packing industry, doesn't it?
no subject
The meat-packing industry has always been one of the best arguments for vegetarianism. I'd recommend having the chicken instead, but the last chicken plant I visited was run by a cannibal cult, so maybe not.
no subject
Ugh, cannibals. I'll take xenocidal aliens over those any day.
